The difference between hydraulic press and mechanical press

1. Different structural principles

The structure principle of the hydraulic press is very different from that of the ordinary mechanical press, which mainly uses a hydraulic transmission system to achieve power transmission in the processing process. Hydraulic press is mainly composed of hydraulic system, machine tool body and electrical control system, the hydraulic system includes fuel tank, oil pump, tubing, solenoid valve, cylinder block, plunger and so on. The mechanical press adopts the mechanical transmission method, mainly relies on the mechanical contraction to complete the power transmission, and its main structure includes the fuselage, slide, workbench, transmission mechanism and handle.

2. Different working principles

The hydraulic press mainly changes the flow direction of the pressure oil by controlling the solenoid valve switch to realize the multi-direction movement and deformation of the mold on the workbench up and down, left and right, front and back, etc., to complete the processing of the workpiece. It can precisely adjust parameters such as machining pressure, speed and position according to the specific work needs to achieve high-precision metal processing tasks. The mechanical press is to rotate the crank to achieve the up and down movement of the table and the slider, and to complete the processing tasks such as punching and cutting of metal materials directly through the pressure on the cutting board.

3. Different productivity

The processing efficiency of the hydraulic press is generally higher than that of the mechanical press, because the hydraulic press can not only achieve high-precision dynamic adjustment, but also realize multi-station synchronous processing, which has the advantages of small footprint, large power density, strong adaptability, etc., and is superior to the mechanical press in terms of comprehensive performance.

4. Different scope of application

Hydraulic press has a wide range of application, which can play a role in metal, plastic, rubber, etc., while mechanical press has a relatively narrow scope of application, and can generally only process metal workpieces. In addition, the hydraulic press has low requirements for the size and shape of the workpiece, while the mechanical press has high requirements for the size and shape of the workpiece, and the same workload, the hydraulic press has more flexibility and higher processing efficiency than the mechanical press.

In summary, although hydraulic press and mechanical press are commonly used pressure processing equipment, there are obvious differences in structural principle, principle of action, work efficiency and scope of application. In addition, in order to ensure its high efficiency, the hydraulic press needs to regularly check and maintain the oil condition of the hydraulic system and the wear degree of the parts, so as to ensure the normal use of the hydraulic press.
